Your Pelvis Goes Through A Lot

Most people are not aware that certain essential functions such as bowel and bladder control and even sexual function are controlled partly by the pelvic floor muscles. Like any other muscle in the human body, the pelvic floor can develop into a source of pain, weakness and tightness when it is pushed too far. A qualified physiotherapist with training in this important but rarely discussed aspect of personal wellness can aid in normalizing tension in this muscle to improve these crucial bodily functions.

There are exercises that can be an effective way to prevent or manage these conditions, but they’re not easy, and sometimes you’ll need a helping hand to make sure that you’re getting it right. Pelvic Health Physiotherapy is a safe, gentle and yet powerful way to address uncomfortable changes in your pelvic area.

Being Confident, Comfortable and Happy is Your Right.

It is important to know that men also have pelvic floor muscles. Men too can have health consequences from pelvic floor muscles that do not work properly. The results can be both uncomfortable and life changing, in a bad way, especially if it affects a man’s sexual health or bladder and bowel control.

Science is increasingly showing us that the mind and body are inextricably linked, and that treating one while ignoring the other is never effective. Lisa believes in an approach that takes into account both the physical and psychosocial causes and effects of the conditions she treats.
